The Honor Oak at Forest Hill: A standout example of hospitality transformation
Among the many projects delivered alongside Punch Pubs, The Honor Oak at Forest Hill remains a highlight.
We were commissioned to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment, enhancing both functionality and customer experience through a carefully considered redesign of the internal layout and external spaces.
Internally, the new scheme reconnected the main trade area with the rear function room, while relocating the toilet facilities to the first floor created a more efficient ground floor layout and allowed for an extended main bar servery. A new theatre kitchen was introduced within the rear function space, which added an interactive dining element, alongside bespoke wall units and feature wine displays on the first floor that enriched the character of the interior.
The first floor was fully reconfigured, transforming former kitchen and storage areas into customer toilets, an additional function room and a private dining and whisky room. A standout whisky display was created using reclaimed units positioned either side of the chimney breast, unified by timber panelling to form a striking focal feature.
The existing bar was retained and sympathetically extended, while the back bar adopted a traditional Victorian aesthetic with green tiling, ornate detailing and silhouette artwork to reinforce the heritage-inspired design narrative.
Externally, the works introduced a new frontage and enclosed seating area, significantly improving kerb appeal and creating a more inviting environment for patrons, along with a redesigned rear garden.
