Building on success
DID was founded by Justin Prior, who successfully developed the business into a respected and trusted interior design practice, recognised for creating commercially intelligent spaces across hospitality, retail, franchise and education environments. Under his leadership, the studio built a reputation for combining creative vision with operational understanding, delivering design solutions that not only elevate experience but also perform in the real world. This foundation continues to shape DID today, with a focus on enduring design, responsible decision-making and long-term client partnerships.
In 2024, DID was acquired by Bramling Workshops, an investment group specialising in the interiors and construction sector. The acquisition positioned DID within a portfolio of complementary businesses spanning main contractor fit out, commercial joinery and residential furniture. Together, the group brings a broader, integrated capability across the built environment, enabling clients to benefit from deeper expertise, enhanced delivery potential and a more connected approach from concept through to completion.
Today, DID is led by Donna Staples, whose exceptional experience, particularly in hospitality-led design, is reflected in an impressive breadth of industry credentials. Her expertise is further demonstrated through her role as a property panellist for Grand Designs Live, her contributions to sustainability-focused design articles in titles such as Sustain and Indesign magazines, and as a founder member of BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) Sustainability Committee, where serving on the Eco Design Finishes Advisory Panel helped contribute to the BRE Green Guide – amongst many other accomplishments.
